The most recent action-packed title that gamers experienced was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for embracing chaos and mayhem with the same enthusiasm, all while presenting gripping, socially charged stories. It’s no surprise that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two creators whose creations have embodied all of those qualities.

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game property, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also mirror the video games' style by featuring a fresh setting and cast of characters in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

What’s Next

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we are unsure of what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently greenlit for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the showrunner.

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
