Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any damage is not yet known and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was striking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said missile fragments fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
