'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith continues clash with City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the nail-biting dying seconds of his team's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The encounter wrapped up with Galbraith temporarily wearing a supporter's spectacles following the post-goal scrum.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a long-range strike from outside the box, and his teammate immediately hammered in the rebound before charging toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with supporters mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The result completed an unbelievable recovery given the team had found themselves down 2-0 during the latter period. Amid the euphoria, there was some collateral damage. He shared, "There was a supporter trying to get our attention and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result earned a upcoming match at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a team Galbraith pushed hard at the same stage of the FA Cup with the London side in February. The athletic midfielder had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with Jamie Donley's volley from about way out going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. It feels criminal that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for attempting the shot from that range," stated Galbraith, who began the game centrally before switching to right wing-back after they changed formation. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the opposition who paid tribute to the way his former team played positively.

City's Quality

"Physically they are outstanding but even the basics and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," Galbraith says. "It feels like they never miss a pass and they know how to dictate and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're holding your own and then without warning they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It demands a tough attitude and attention just to stay in the game."

New Chapter

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a popular figure across two seasons at Orient and has quickly replicated that in his new home. At the London club he linked up again with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at his loan club from Old Trafford. Then came a spell at League Two the Manchester club, before he permanently left Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was probably a bit naive going into men's football. I think many athletes would say under-23s football is very different. Sometimes it appears play is circulated without real physicality. There are limited physical contests. Once you start playing first-team football you have to learn quickly."

National Team Success

He has demonstrated that maturation for both domestically and internationally, performing well for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the international competition next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has started the last several matches, including two matches games against a football powerhouse. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he manipulates the ball and his knack for a killer pass.

Early Days

This represents quite the ride for the kid from the Queens Park estate in his hometown, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his dad, his father, also a central player, play for his father's team.

Red Devils Debut

Galbraith's only game for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a European competition trip to the host city, where they played on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was closed owing to the weather of freezing cold. "It was a long trip and it was freezing," he recalls, smiling. "The preceding week, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to travel with the first team and earn some playing time at the end was unbelievable."

Departing Old Trafford

How difficult was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged 16? "It was quite easy, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm hugely grateful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

New Environment

It is mid-afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Prior to relocating to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a frequent passenger in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a minibus driven by club employees, Pete and Howard, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"I travel with a teammate, Ronald, Malick Yalcouyé – the Swedish defender used to be in it but has started driving. It's nice to socialize with the teammates but I'm aiming to be the following person to drive independently and behind the wheel. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

While playing for Leyton Orient, Galbraith would mix with followers on the Tube after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
